Karl Dönitz (Grünau, 16 de septiembre de 1891-Hamburgo, 24 de diciembre de 1980) fue un marino alemán que participó en la Primera y en la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Comandó la Kriegsmarine de la Alemania nazi desde el 30 de enero de 1943 hasta el final de la guerra, con el rango de großadmiral. El 30 de abril de 1945 Adolf Hitler lo nombró su sucesor como Reichspräsident, cargo que desempeñó hasta el 23 de mayo de 1945, cuando fue detenido por orden de la Comisión Aliada de Control.
