Berijev A-50 "Šmel" (Шмель) (NATO-koodi "Mainstay") oli venäläi...Berijev A-50 "Šmel" (Шмель) (NATO-koodi "Mainstay") oli venäläinen kaukotiedustelu- ja tutkavalvontalentokone. Neuvostoliiton tutkavalvontakonekehitys alkoi 1960-luvulla, jolloin tähän tarkoitukseen kokeiltiin Tupolev Tu-95, Tupolev Tu-124 ja Tupolev Tu-126 -koneita. Berijev A-50 tuli käyttöön 1980-luvun puolivälissä. Teknisesti Berijev A-50 perustuu Iljušin Il-76 MD- ja Il-76 TD-kuljetuskoneisiin.[1]
